QFES New Bundamba Fire Station
Services: Project Management
Project Description
Pace Project Group took over the management of this project after the original D&C contractor went into receivership around 30% through the contract. On behalf of the Department of Housing and Public Works, Pace Project Group managed the due diligence and redocumentation, procurement of a total of 29 trade packages and the delivery of the construction phase of project. Works included the construction of the new fire station including station building, engine rooms, structural site modifications, utility service diversions and reconnection and all ancillary facilities.
Project Benefit
Due to the significant recent population expansion into the western suburbs and Ipswich, the existing facilities were incapable of achieving QFES’s benchmark response times and accommodate the required staff levels. The new facility not only achieved this but was also sized to future-proof the anticipated ongoing population increase for decades to come.
Key Services
Pace Project Group provided Project Management, Stakeholder Management and Procurement Management services to DHPW Building and Asset Services and the Qld Fire and Emergency Services and the Public Business Safety Agency from inception to completion of project.
